The Open Educational Resources

The development of this Open Educational Resources (OER) aimed to facilitate the learning of a certain subject, which a vision of more practical and concrete content becomes crucial for good understanding of what is being taught, in this case, the approach of the Operating Systems since their immaturity decades ago to today's complex modern systems.

The use of these current operating systems today, omits all evolving in computers generations, making it almost impossible to see the behavior of the immature operating systems of half century ago. So here it is possible to visualize how they evolved in these successive generations, highlighting the innovations of a system to its predecessors.

For better monitoring, all this history is separated into four generations organized on a timeline linking the main differences between one system and another, especially about the architecture of the computers that were running these systems.
